The Aura Pro 6G SSD from OWC is built especially for Apple MacBook Air 2012. They stand as a cheaper alternative to the SSD that 
comes with the said laptop computer. The Aura Pro 6G comes in capacities of 120, 180, 240 and 480 GB and boasts maximum read and write speeds of 501 MB/s and 503 MB/s respectively. Similarly, IOPS at 4k random write is 60,000.
The Aura Pro 6G is a SATA III 6 GBbs drive powered by SandForce’s SF-2281 controller. It joins the likes of Kingston’s Hyper X and its counterpart, the Mercury Extreme Pro 6G which also have the same controller. Together with the controller are SanDisk’s 24nm MLC NAND Flash modules.
Similar to other SandForce driven SSDs, the Aura Pro 6G features DuraWrite technology and RAISE. The former increases the endurance of the SSD while the latter protects the data on the drive. Other features include Intelligent Block Management and Wear Leveling, Read Disturb Management and ECC protection.
